RADIANT SPHERES

Although my previous catalogue of scented artworks has generally been described as perfume, (attars, oil parfums, unguents, eau de parfums and absolu de parfums), this new collection is different; in that it is supplementary, an idea that exists alongside.

This time I have worked from a baseline of aromatic purpose; selecting the ingredients for their cultural, geographical, spiritual and historical meanings, rather than for their olfactory values. Thus, the collection is richly practical in terms of it’s cultural significance, rather than relying only upon the more usual allure factor. 

These conceptual choices and decisions were far more creatively challenging for me, in terms of arriving at an end-point that would exude balance, beauty, harmony and above all, significantly invite deeply resonant meaning. Each composition was designed with intention to reach, and to nourish the soul of the wearer (and their scent beholders). When selecting the palette of the raw materials, I made choices from my own humble knowledge and lived-experience with the materials. 

Production of The RADIANT SPHERES has allowed me to return to my roots as a clinical aromatherapist (Dip Natural Therapies/AIAS, 2000). Hence, these are not really perfumes, per se, and in some cases will not smell typically ‘alluring’ in the same way that perfumes are supposed to allure. Rather, these may be considered aromatic totems, amulets, personal cloaks & protective shields, comfort zones, energetic harmonisers, shamanic essences and healing elixirs.

And they are beautiful.

Each composition has been super-charged through immersion in an ongoing series of crystalline energy grid patterns, featuring a large collection of enormous quartz menhirs and other remarkable stones. This energetic interplay was intended to hyper-activate all of the esoteric healing aspects of my brews. This amplification process was assisted by harmonically enriching the formulas with daily vibrational sound treatment using pure Arkansas quartz singing bowls, and nine truly exquisite antique Tibetan singing bowls.

The vibrational activation process was conducted over 6 months to honour, harmonise and synergise the truly rare and precious aromatics during their long maceration. One of the most thrilling results is how the 9 scents may be layered in incredible combinations.

Each plant-based composition is hand-crafted exclusively from pure essential oils, absolutes, resins and tinctures. Blended into original fragrance formulae, each composition is then diluted with perfume-grade, denatured ethanol (PG95) from sugar cane, with a small percentage of pure, filtered, Australian spring-water, added to soften the ethanol. No chemical additives, and never any animal testing.
